Information the service uses
- Account: name, email, authentication records and session information to create and protect your account.
- Creative work: prompts, settings, page content, uploaded and generated images, projects and exports to make and save your books.
- Usage and billing: generation jobs, credit history, payment and customer references to calculate balances, prevent duplicate charges and support purchases. Boverly does not store your card number.
- Support: the name, email, topic and message you submit through our contact form or support email, so we can answer your request. Messages are saved in our private support inbox; replies are sent by email through Resend.
- Essential operation: technical and security events needed to run and troubleshoot the service.
The main purposes are to provide the requested service and billing, protect accounts, and meet applicable legal obligations. When configured, Google Analytics runs only with analytics permission. Meta Pixel runs only with marketing permission; it measures page views, account registration, preview starts, checkout starts and confirmed purchases. Neither optional script loads before its category is accepted.
With marketing permission, Meta Conversions API also measures confirmed purchases from our server. It sends the payment value and currency, a purchase identifier, SHA-256 hashes of your account email and account identifier, and available Meta advertising cookie identifiers, IP address and browser user agent. Hashing does not make account data anonymous. Book prompts, page artwork and reference photos are excluded. Your consent is recorded in your account; withdrawing it stops pending server events. Matching data in the temporary delivery queue is removed after delivery, final rejection or withdrawal, and unsent events expire within six days.
AI and service providers
When you request generation or an AI edit, your idea, page directions, audience and relevant image content are sent to OpenAI to produce the result. The application requests store: false for Responses calls; this setting does not promise immediate deletion of all provider data. OpenAI’s data controls apply to its processing. Avoid adding a child’s name or other sensitive information unless it is needed for the book.
Account and book data are held in the configured Supabase/PostgreSQL and object storage environment. Stripe handles card checkout when paid packs are enabled. Provider locations, international transfer safeguards and final data-processing agreements must be verified for the public deployment.
Optional reference photos
You can attach a photo to a book or an individual page to guide a character or illustration style. Upload only images you have permission to use. The result is an illustrated interpretation; an exact likeness is not guaranteed.
Boverly stores the uploaded reference in your account’s object storage. Its image endpoint and generation worker check that the reference belongs to the signed-in account before reading it. Other customers cannot fetch it through Boverly’s image endpoint.
When you request an illustration that uses the reference, its image content is sent to OpenAI’s image editing API. The photo bytes are not sent for text-only planning or assistance. A character reference is used only on supported pages; style references guide applicable illustrations. Puzzle geometry and papercraft construction remain controlled by the application.
“Remove from book,” “Remove from page” and “No reference” detach the image from future generation for that scope. A page’s own reference is independent of the book reference. Removing a reference does not delete the stored asset, previously generated images, queued generation inputs, exports, backups or copies already received by OpenAI. References already reserved for a running generation job remain part of that job. Data-deletion requests are separate from removing a reference.
Optional public printable sharing
Your books are private by default. Submitting a page to the community library is optional and requires explicit permission for that particular saved page. An administrator checks the copy before publication. Only its printable image and curated title, description, age range and tags are public; your private project document and account identity are not included.
Pages from books with uploaded references or unverified manual images are excluded. The separate publication copy is stored in a private bucket and served only while approved permission remains active. You can withdraw future downloads from the editor’s sharing form. Previously downloaded copies cannot be recalled. Consent and review records are retained for publication management and audit; their final retention schedule must be documented for launch.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile and projects, download a project backup and request access, correction or deletion of personal data. Depending on the legal basis, you may also object, request restriction or portability, or complain to your local data-protection authority. Requests will be handled through the operator contact shown above once configured.
